4x HDMI Inputs With 3D and ARC

The VSX-921-K offers four (4) HDMI inputs with fully support for 3D video content (Blu-ray, broadcast and gaming). It can send 1080p signals to your HD display for exceptional image quality for your entertainment sources. The high bandwidth processor ensures compatibility with Blu-ray audio and video so you can experience faithful reproduction of all this high resolution format has to offer. Through a single cable, HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video.

Anchor Bay 1080p Video Upscaling

Anchor Bay video processing allows this receiver to convert analog video sources to HDMI through a single cable. With lower resolution video, you can upscale your picture to digital 1080p to match the resolution of your HD display. This ensures you'll enjoy stunningly clear video from virtually any source.

7.1-Channel and Digital Audio Decoding

It uses specific Dolby Digital and DTS codecs to reproduce an enveloping 7.1-channel surround sound experience. The unit decodes Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Pro Logic IIz, DTS-ES, and DTS Neo:6. It also decodes the following HD audio formats: Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, and DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio.

DTS-HD Master Audio and High-Resolution Audio

This receiver is compatible with Blu-ray HD audio, so it offers both DTS-HD Master Audio and High-Resolution technologies. DTS-HD Master Audio supports bitrates up to 24.5Mbps, 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, and is ideal for HDMI Version 1.3a cables. DTS-HD High-Resolution Audio also offers 7.1 discrete channels of 96KHz/24-bit audio, but only supports bitrates up to 6Mbps.

Dolby Pro Logic IIz

Dolby Pro Logic IIz offers additional "front height" channels to fully immerse you in your movies, music and games. This helps to create a more spacious surround sound for a compelling experience, and also provides a wide range of choices for speaker positioning to optimize sound in almost any room. It works with existing soundtracks by identifying and decoding spatial cues that occur naturally in a soundtrack.

Apple Device Connectivity

A front-panel USB 2.0 port lets you connect and even charge your iPad, iPod or iPhone. The included USB/video cable lets you instantly access music, videos, streaming content, and photos stored on your Apple devices and supports iTunes album art. When you receive an incoming call on your iPhone, your music and movies will automatically mute. In addition to direct navigation on your device you'll find a button on the VSX-921's front panel to switch control to the included preset remote and an intuitive on-screen menu.

Advanced Sound Retriever Technology

Advanced Sound Retriever technology improves the overall sound quality of compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA, and AAC formats. It employs digital sound processing technology that helps bring CD quality sound back to compressed 2-channel audio by restoring sound pressure and smoothing jagged artifacts that occur after compression.

Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System (MCACC)

For enhanced room acoustics, Pioneer's Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System (MCACC) is included with this receiver. This technology detects speakers, and then sets levels, delays and crossovers, as well as measuring room acoustics. It is designed to work with home theater systems to create a larger, fuller listening area without distorting the sound.

Phase Control

Phase Control technology utilizes precise phase correction measurements to maintain a proper signal balance at the audio listening position; it prevents unwanted distortion and coloring of the sound.

Sirius Satellite Radio Ready

It is capable of receiving Sirius Satellite digital radio, which provides 100% commercial-free 5.1-channel surround sound music of over 120 digital channels. To listen to Sirius radio programming, you would need an optional docking adapter/tuner and activation of optional Sirius service.
